The threats posed by water presence in a data centre are instantly obvious. Clearly, avoidance is the ideal, but this is not always possible. In these cases, our design strategy features warning notification of ingress.
Water is needed for certain plant operations - for example, precision air conditioning.

The same equipment results in condensate that must be safely drained. In addition to detection and alarm systems, we will consider double piping (pipes within pipes) and redundancy for condensate pumps.
Physical penetration from outside the data centre may also need to be considered. Here, modular steel room construction and water deflection systems can be employed.
